Normal. Host computer commands will override Print Menu settings for print style, characters set, and the like. (These printer settings are only effective until the host changes the settings using printer commands.)

In PCL emulation, check setting of "PCL Frm Ctl= ..." in the Extended Configuration Menu. For either emulation, use the hex dump mode (Page 7-54) or an emulation command printout (Page 7-54) to check commands sent to printer.
