4200 Series Troubleshooting Guide
Problem:
FAILS TO PRINT INPUT DATA

Before the printer can receive and interpret information from the computer:

  • the printer must be on line.

  • the computer and printer have the same type of interface, serial or parallel.

  • the connecting cable is properly constructed and connected to the proper ports.

  • the printer menu interface selection must be properly selected for parallel/serial. Parallel is the default and serial is only an option if a serial interface board is installed.

  • if serial interface is used, the interface parameters on both the printer and computer must be configured to the same values.

Reference the installation guide for specifics on cabling/theory of operations for parallel and serial interfaces.
