4200 Series Troubleshooting Guide
Problem:
Cooling Fan Motor

The cooling fan should continually operate when power is applied to the printer. Fan power is split and routed through the starting capacitor prior to the transformer. If other printer operations are normal, there is a failure of the fan motor, cabling, or starting capacitor.

The starting capacitor is located on the transformer assembly, and the fan cable is routed through the air plenum.
