There is a paper motion sensor located on the left paper feed tractor to detect a paper jam (no paper movement). The paperfeed motor circuitry has an overcurrent sensor to detect a motor failure (short).

Check motor resistance. If failed, replace the paperfeed motor, if okay, replace the motor driver board.
