- Problem:
- Test Print
A test print is used to check
- a newly installed printer for operation.
- printhead operation, as outlined below.
- ribbon quality.
- general printer operation.
- problems with individual characters.
To check printhead operation, use wide paper with the 13.2"menu option paper width setting. This will print 132 characters per line. (8"menu option setting prints 80 characters per line.) A 132 character line is broken down as follows for each printhead.
| PRINTHEAD CHARACTER ASSIGNMENTS (132-Character Line) |
| Printer type | First Head | Second Head | Third Head | Fourth Head |
| 4-printheads | 33 char | 33 char | 33 char | 33 char |
| 3-printheads | 45 char | 45 char | 42 char | |
| 2-printheads | 68 char | 64 char | | |
Enter Test Print Mode using the following steps:
- Set the printer off line and enter the "Tests"portion of the menu.
- Select the "Test Print."
- A test print sample is shown below.
