4200 Series Troubleshooting Guide

WARNINGS !
  1. Hazardous voltages are present inside the printer. Service should be performed only by service-trained personnel who are aware of the hazards involved. Where maintenance can be performed without power applied, the power should be removed. When any repair is completed, ensure that all safety features, including protective grounds are intact and functioning.
  2. The filter capacitors in the HV power supply retain a charge after AC power is removed. Allow sufficient time for them to fully discharge before handling circuit boards.

CAUTIONS
  1. The printer uses static-sensitive components. Electrostatic discharge procedures must be used when working on the printer. Failure to do so will result in degraded or destroyed components.
  2. Ensure that only fuses with the required current/voltage rating and of the specified type are used for replacement.

NOTE:
The elimination of static electricity in the environment of a printer is important for proper functioning and paper stacking. Use of anti-static spray on carpets and areas where paper is transported will greatly reduce the amount of potentially harmful static electricity
