Paper Jam Sensor Adjustment

PROBLEM/SYMPTOM:

False Paper Jams may occur due to an improper adjustment of the Paper JamSensor circuit.

NOTE: This sensor can be disabled, through the front panel, so printeroperation can continue until adjustment is corrected. Reference theEUROLINE Operators Manual for details on Paper Motion Sensor.

SOLUTION/PROCEDURE:

1. Locate the Motor Controller Board (PN 040-00077-XX). This board isattached to the Main Logic Board sitting in the base of the printer.

2. Remove paper from the paper motion sensor. This sensor is attached tothe left paper feed tractor.

3. Connect a VOM to U16 on the Motor Controller Board (PN 040-00077-XX). Red (+) lead to U16 pin 10 and Black (-) lead to U16 pin 12. Ref. Figure 1 & Figure 2.

4. Adjust R31 for a VOM reading of .300 VDC +/- .010. (NO PAPER)

5. Reinstall the paper, enable the Paper Jam Sensor, (if this waspreviously disabled) and print a file. Block the jam sensor and printanother file. The paper jam error indication should occur.
