PROBLEM/SYMPTOM:

Ribbon does not advance: slack in the ribbon fabric at or around the printheads.

SOLUTION/PROCEDURE:

If changing the ribbon cartridge does not fix the issue, and advancing the thumbwheel works once the the cartidge is removed, then replace the pivot arm, part number 046-00045-00. The pivot arm is a small plastic device which engages with the ribbon drive gear in the ribbon cartridge to advance the ribbon. Problems with the pivot arm can range from excessive wear and tear to mis-positioning.

Call OTC's Technical Support Dept. for detailed instructions on removal and installation of the pivot arm. Replacement of this piece can generally be completed by the end user.
